i bought my MW2 360 about 2 weeks ago, and this thing sounds like it is getting louder and louder. now it is MUCH louder then my halo 3 edition 360 and my FIRST console. my drive seems to have this really low pitch rumble. any one else have any issues with there 360?

It's possible but unlikely the disc is ever so slightly out of balance.

Then in that case the problem is probably related to your DVD drive.

Make sure it isnt the power brick. The cheap fan started to make awful noises and it was sitting a few feet behind the console and I thought it was the console. Had to put my ear next to it to figure it out. 150 watt jasper about a year old.

My new 150w console is alot louder than my 175w console.
Its louder without a game and even louder with a game in.

hey so from my experience it can also be related to the screws being too tight on the inside of the 360. I remember one time i opened my 360 to fix the RROD when i put the screws back in I tightened then FAR too much and it appears that caused it to become VERY loud... although after i loosened them it was all good again... perhaps even quieter then before... So i would say it may be an over tightening of the screws by the factory... but that would also require opening the xbox and voiding the warranty ^_^... Best of luck

Guess you're not too bright...with any sort of mass production, some screwups do slip by. Just the nature of it. Let me guess: you're a Mac guy huh? Less production, less errors?
Anywho, it is your console. Screws may be loose/too tight or you may have a dud DVD drive which...wait for it...is NOT manufactured my M$:o I know, shocking! Other companies can have faulty products:D

first of all i hate Apple more then anything out there. i would rather serve for hitler then use a mac. the console is going back to walmart not gonna void my warranty. its only a few days old so no big deal. as far as M$ they are just notorious for rushing out crappy hardware.
