I have been using the activate.iso disc, and it worked fine with Assassins Creed 2. With Dragon Age, I get the unreadable disc error after I load a game, as it loads to the main menu screen okay. What is the problem here? I have iXtreme 1.6, and I burned on Verbatim and TDK DL's. Any help appreciated, thanks.

What media is Dragon Age: Origins burned on? Stick with Verbatims and don't use anything else. =)

I've got no idea how to install to the HD, and Ive only got a 20 gig HD anyway. Does it make a difference in quality where the Verbatims are from? Ive been using ones made in Singapore.

I know you said you burned it to a TDK as well as a Verbatim, but did you burn it to a TDK as a last ditch option, or do you play games on TDK's as well as Verbatim's?

Singapores are the ones you want. To install to HDD, when you are at the section where you can see the game's logo to play, press Y and then select Install to HDD.

Aiur, all my games are on TDK, I've never had any problems with them until now with DragonAge, so it was the first time I bought Verbatims, but same issue as the TDK.
NDarkness, is it really that simple?

Yes it's a standard feature that comes a long with the NXE update. They wouldn't complicate it for the standard audience.

NDarkness, okay I just tried it. After 1% I get a scratched/dirty disc error. Thanks anyway. Any other solutions? thanks all for the quick replies.

What drive is it? If all else fails, try calibrating the pot on your drive. I recently had to do the same for a buddy of mine... Same problem with MW2. Worked like a charm.

To my understanding, almost any media other than Verbatims put more stress on the laser, causing disc read problems. On my old 360 I had no problems when I was strictly using Verbatims. I switched between a mix of Verbatim, Memorex and Windata only to have my drive slowly die on me. I did a POT calibration and that had mild success (I went from not being able to read ANY disc to being able to read most low quality discs and a couple of Verbatims). Here are a couple of other questions for you:
1. Have you ever put a game into the tray, only to have it not be read at all (status will go from Reading back to Open Tray)?
2. How long does it take for "Play Game" to change into "Play Assassin's Creed", with the picture of the game showing up (on my old 360 it took about 10 seconds for the picture to come up, sometimes it wouldn't come up at all)?

Well, now Assassins Creed 2 freezes while loading. So I guess this means I defnitely do need to do a pot calibration? So its nothing to do with my activate.iso disc?
Aiur, in answer to your first question, no never had that problem. And I guess no point in answering two now.
Dizzko, its a Ben-Q.

Sounds like you have a disc problem caused by the deteriorating laser. I originally had Dragon Age on a Verbatim (on my old Xbox with the drive problems), and it froze at the menu screen. Burned it to a Windata, and it worked fine. Try burning on another low quality media, because if you have laser issues I think Verbatims won't work. This is just short term though, as I would bet it won't be too long until you will be forced to do a POT calibration, if that even helps at all.
