OK, I'm convinced. I'm about to run my whole collection through abgx360 again, so just to confirm: SSV1 - may be OK but bin just in case, and SSV2 definately OK and safe so no need to reburn?

if it verifies 100% and splitvid is there (misc tab) and ss v2, then yes it is safe, no need to reburn

OK Cool, but what about all the others with SSV1 result (which was about 36 out of 40 of them!!)? Do you think I should just scrap them and start afresh??

wave 1 and 2 games should all be ok according to c4e. If you set abgx 360 to output in high verbosity (or whatever it's called) it will actually tell you which drive was used to rip the game...SS v1 from a 360 drive in 0800 mode may be ok from what I understand because the kreon firmware did not do the SS checking properly where the 0800 did. Look for drive type SH******* and firmware type 1.00 in high verbosity to see if you have kreon

Im a big advocate of "STAYING AHEAD OF THE GAME" and this is starting to worry me a bit. At this point if some old scene releases are possibly (NOT ALL) bad, then abgx should update nuked right about now?
If a a game is ssv1 and you chang eit to 2, would that be bad & flag you?

Hi,
The topic was about the games with SS v2.
Could we stay on topic and list the known games (with the name of the releaser) which are either ripped with xbox dvd rom or has ss v2?
Thanks.
So far I found CoS MW2 and Army of Two 40th day :(

why should we list every single xbox 360 game?? every game that you rip with an 0800 drive will be ssv2; just like every game that is ripped with a kreon will be ssv1. its already been stated 100's of times.
Come talk with us on efnet at #elitemods !!! or just click ME
ALSO, DO NOT SEND ME MESSAGES ON LIVE REGARDING MODDING CONSOLES, OR HOW I PLAYED A CERTAIN GAME EARLY. I WILL NOT RESPOND. I WILL INSTEAD DELETE YOUR MESSAGE, AND BLOCK ALL COMMUNICATION FROM YOU. JUST SEND ME A PM ON HERE.

When somebody uploads a game to a torrent site it don't provide abgx information with high verbosity settings. So you don't know with what drive it was ripped.
That's the problem.

to ACTUALLY answer the question since many people are content with skirting it and just complaining that someone would DARE aska question in forum...
From what I understand anything under Wave three (any game that is wave 2 or 1) can be left as ssv1 since that is what they are supposed to be and microsoft can't basically change that. you CAN change them to ssv2 though and it wouldn't hurt and may even be better off doing so, especially if you are already going to have to reburn them in order to put splitvid on it, you may as well do ssv2 as well.
any game that is wave 3 or higher HAS be have splitvid AND ssv2 or else you can risk being banned in the future.
bottom line wave 1 and 2 are fine as ssv1, if you are not sure what wave you games are just redo your backup as a ssv2 because no one is going to take the time to make you a list here.

What about drive model those wave1,2 ssv1 were made by?
Does it matter if it's a samsung with KREON or xbox with 0800?
Or do you say wave1-2 and ssv1 are fine ripped with any drive?

It's weird this.Ive just downloaded mass effect 2.Ive run it through abgx and it's saying it was ripped with a benq 0800 drive.Should that then be showing ssv2? According to abgx its showing ssv1.

I have a samsung drive, which was spoofed as a hitachi to facilitate a drive replacement in an earlier console. I flashed the drive with toshiba/samsung 0800 firmware, and used xbox backup creator to back up a copy of Forza 3. However, when I run the resulting image through abgx360 on high verbosity, it gives SSV2 but says the drive used to rip was a benq 0800. Any ideas why? I'm wondering was it the fact that I didnt 'de-spoof' the drive before flashing the 0800 to it, but I wouldnt have thought so. And yes, its DEFINATELY the samsung 0800 I put on it!! What do you think?
PS If its a case that I have to de-spoof the drive back to Samsung before flashing, how do I do that? I'm sure its simple but just cant seem to figure it out!!

It was possibly patched by the ABGX program with a 'known' SS file. Since ABGX does not discriminate/verify between SSv1/v2, it will patch over a perhaps more-valid SSv2 file with an SSv1 file if the SSv1 file is 'verified'.
It's basically just a really, really big security oversight in ABGX.

Thank you
You can find that info here Abgx360.net , just search for the game in question, once you have found it, go all the way to the end of the line and click on the link located on the right of the wave column!

if you already have the ck3 or maximus connectivity kit then why don't you just use that one to power the drive?

Hey guys, after seeking help from leerage (praise!) and having him explain most of this ssv1 vs. ssv2 stuff to me, I ran a copy of CoD through abgx and found that it was ssv1. I injected it with the ssv2 bin I found on abgx, burned it, reverified with abgx, and now it properly shows ssv2.
My questions is does the .bin file that I injected change properties of the .iso such as the drivename and drivefw? With my new burn it shows:
DriveName=TS-H943A (Toshiba/Samsung)
DriveFW=iXtreme v1.6 0800 standalone
The reason I ask is because there's been a lot of posts stating that Kreon rips only create ssv1 and if you had any other drive that was iXtreme 1.6 0800 then it should have ssv2 properly.
If the .bin doesn't change these features, then shouldn't the .iso I had originally have been ssv2 or what other reason could lead it to being ssv1? Also, most of the games I play are RF. Is it safer/more recommended to stick to NTSC?

Why are all the recent scene releases still SSv1? Every new release that hasn't SSv2 should be nuked.

No, there are 3 types of SS:
- SSv1 ripped with Kreon
- SSv1 ripped with old 0800 FW
- SSv2 ripped with new 0800 FW (iXtreme 1.6)
