Hi, finally after screwed up original drive (Liteon83850c) i got a new benq...with benq ixtreme-1.61 and it is spoofed as lite-on, with original liteon key..
..now xbox is just flashing green light and drive open/close button is not working.. looks like it freezed @ vendor mode, i can even get it to vendor mode without opening tray half-way. tested with older ixtreme v. 1.6.0 also got a new power cable for drive.. still same thing (tested with another sata cable too)
Maybe it got a wrong key from liteon? it looks fine

also readed somewhere that even if it is wrong is hould be able to operate it (open/close watch dvd's)
Thanks for you help

Hi i know its an obvious one but check the sata and power cable that connect it to your mainboard it could be one of them thats faulty!!!

yes i thought that too, already tested both of them (power+sata) they are ok (got from working xbox),sockets @ motherboard lookd ok too, maybe they are just freezed somehow? ... looks like xbox is stuck with vendor mode (mode-b) even when drive is not in vendor mode, strange.

you should try to put the drive back in vendor mode, if it is a benq hold the tray open and unplug it. once its it vendor mode dont touch any buttons just unplug it and then plug it back up, let the tray close on its own. this may work. if it does not try booting the xbox with the drive plugged in, and not the sata cable see if it boots to the dashboard without that. also make sure your fan is plugged in good and its not wiggled out, if it is unhooked even a little the system will be waiting on that connection.

Yes it does boot to dashboard without sata cable. playaed around before with that vendore mode, thing is it is not even tryng to suck drive back in and on/off button is not working, it's like always ready to go vendor mode (drive tested with another xbox, everything was ok)

the reason i asked that was i have a box that is doing the same thing. i have tried everything and came to the conclusion that it needs to be reflowed having a short somewhere that region of the board. your liteon drive was probally ok, its another problem.
