dont bother, just play it using neogamma and your unpatched nsmb disc will work perfect. use neogamma r7 and above. im using neogamma R8 beta 15 and it works a treat with NO probs. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=RBTYWRC6

Hello don't want to hijack the thread but i'm having the same issues as the OP.

Just tried neogamma 8 but still getting the same problem i.e. green screen then going back to wii menu.
I'm using an unpatched pal disc on a pal wii system, do i have to upgrade anything else i.e. cios and if so how do i do it?

Many Thanks

to play a backup of NSMB Wii from a disc get the patch, make sure to get the pal fix since you have a pal game and console and then apply the patch to the original iso file.
The patch i used had a batch file you clicked on to run the patch. Just unrar the patch once you locate it and then copy your iso into the same folder the patch files are in.

The latest USB Loader GX will play the UNPATCHED game iso but not off disc. At least not for me. I had to copy the iso to a portable hard drive and load it that way.
I was unable to get the UNPATCHED game to load using neogamma but once i patched the image it loaded just fine both from portable hardrive and disc.

I also understand some people with actual mod chips but no softmod are having issues with this game.

I have just had a friend round with his Wii. It is chipped with an old WiiKey
He made a back up of his NSMB, patched it with the PAL fix, and it wouldn't work
So I have updated his Firmware to 4.2E from 4.1E and then softmodded it.

I have also installed and patched the newest versions of some of the IOS files using DOP-IOS

His backup now works perfect using the normal game channel
