Accidental 4.2 update please help

I installed homebrew and backup loader onto a friends Wii but against my advice he installed the latest Wii update.

All the backup loader channels are still present but no longer work.

Is there a fix for this? I have searched before you flame me but i couldnt get a definative up to date answer? All that is required is the Wii plays backups?
