Hey guys is it just me or are these game developers forcing us all to play online and help microsoft generate more money? The reason why I say this is because I bough a few games and some of them where racing games(along with an extra controller). Just to fine out that I can even challenge my friends in some races, just about all the racing games are for one player and online??? WTF???? Pure....Mid Night club (use to be multiplayer)....Need for speed (use to be multiplayer) What about the players who can't go online? I go to the store and ask the people who work there for a co op game and they can hardly name any. So do they think we don't want to play games at home against are friends other than repetitive sports. I just wanted to post this to see what you guys think, hear some of your thoughts on this.

People want this. Therefore the developers will cater for it. Don't forget they do the same for Wii and PS3 and their online play is free.

i agree with the OP. up until this year, i did not have the net at home to use with LIVE. it wasnt because we didnt want it, or couldnt afford it. it was simply because we live in the BFE and cannot get it out here. and im sure that they are thousands/millions of other people that do not have the opportunity to ever use LIVE and would rather have a multiplayer game.
and how hard is it to include a multiplayer aspect anyways?
Come talk with us on efnet at #elitemods !!! or just click ME
ALSO, DO NOT SEND ME MESSAGES ON LIVE REGARDING MODDING CONSOLES, OR HOW I PLAYED A CERTAIN GAME EARLY. I WILL NOT RESPOND. I WILL INSTEAD DELETE YOUR MESSAGE, AND BLOCK ALL COMMUNICATION FROM YOU. JUST SEND ME A PM ON HERE.

Why do you this it is misleading? I not trying to say it in a horrid way but if you really think about it, it is kinf of true. If you want to race some other than the cpu in mid nightclub la you need to have xbox live for the 360 with that you would be bored racing the cpu all day with your friend just sitting there watching you.

I've noticed this as well. It's quite annoying.
And I do absolutely think that developers are 'corralling' gamers into the online arena. It fights piracy (banned 360s can't use the feature), it encourages subscriptions to Live (you AND your friend if you want to play with them), it allows your gaming habits to be monitored (big bucks for market research), and they get to brag about how they are so forward-thinking and consumer-oriented to include online modes.
$38 on new discs -- Check
$15 on burn after burn that showed as a DVD -- Check
$11 on new laser -- Check
$28 on new multimeter -- Check

I agree 100%, if they're not trying to "force us online", then they're at least catering too much to online players. I got NFS: underground because I wanted a racing game with good graphics that I could play w/ friends, only to find that it's not possible. How developers can release a 1-player RACING game is beyond me. Racing games are all about multiplayer, I guess they're trying to change that.

I think its more of gamers forcing developers to make more online games. However I do wish there were more co-op games and we really need some split screen capable live games. The only game me and my friends play is l4d and l4d2 because of its versatile multiplayer capabilities. I know halo can do the same things but I'm a fan of the original and hate the direction they've taken the series.
360 Benq ixtreme 1.6, Talismoon Whispermax (blue), custom window, black metallic paint, western digital 120gb hard drive
Wii (launch console) 3.3 Twilight Hack wiigator .3g
fat PSP 3.51 m33-7
DS (original blue) g6 lite flash kit w/passcard

Yeah I have to agree with you on that one, I watched some friends of mine play that l4d online and it looked pretty good. It was cool how they where both able to play online at the same time on one console.

i agree that you should be able to do multiplayer on the same console. I also hate that games are not like halo where u cant play in nonranked games on the same console.
