Why are my backups showing up as 'Play DVD'

I am trying to backup 2 titles: Ghostbusters game and the X-Men Wolverine game.
I back them up using XBC so I get the 2 Files (.iso & .dvd) 7.29GB total size. Then I use Slysoft CloneCD to burn the .dvd file to a dual layer DVD.
I swear I have done everything right from memory; it?s been a while since I?ve backed anything up. But when I put the finished disc into the 360 it just says Play DVD. It doesn?t recognise the disc as a game!
I have wasted 4 discs so far can anyone help me out?

You didn't say what firmware you was on, but it needs updating :)

You need to use imgburn and have at least 1.5.1 to play those games.

The XBox 360 has 'BenQ iXtreme 1.41'
I use the Samsung SH-D162 drive to backup all my 360 games with the newest Xbox Backup Creator.
I just tried all my other past backups (most recent is Resident Evil5) and they load/play fine. Are you positive the firmware needs updating to get rid of this 'Play DVD'

yeah the latest one is 1.61 or you can wait for the next one, Ixtreme LT should be along soon :)

dear friend u need to burn active.iso to dldvd and the run it and eject it then it shud come back to dash then u instert that disc that gave u dvd screen and the game will start injoy if u need the files active.iso visit my forum http://i'manmidiot.com edited by ddp all needed files there injoy

You guys must be right! I had a old backup of 'Golden Axe: Beast Rider' on my PC. I just burnt it using the CloneCD method and its works/Plays fine on my 360!
So the question is now: What exactly are the game companies doing to the new games/ Discs (re: Ghostbusters, Halo3 ODST, Wolverine) to make me need to upgrade the firmware?

where have you been? Different waves have been around forever. LT won't matter when it comes out.
