I am trying to flash my 360 BenQ by following the tutorial written by leerage.

I am using VIA VT6421A SATA card with driver v5.1.2600.430, Jungle Flasher v0.1.67 Beta (50), and iXtreme 1.61 for BenQ.

I am able to locate the correct I/O Port for the 360 drive, and I am getting the correct info. under Drive Properties. The problem I am having is after I click READ the green light on the 360 begins to blink repeatedly for approx. 5 min. and then the console powers down. At the same time all that appears is an hour glass, and the CPU Usage is at 100%.

Also I would like to add that my system has a VIA 8237 chipset. Initially I thought that may be the problem so I disabled it, but I still got the same results.

I vaguely remember reading something about deleting RAID functions but for the life of me I can't remember where I read that.

Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!!

I was having issues flashing my benq with jungleflasher too, you might do like I did and just use dosflash 32 under windows. I spent 6 hours deleting my drivers and mucking with jungleflasher before I tried dosflash 32, dosflash 32 only took me like 5 minutes and everything is flashed fine now. here's a link for the tutorial if you are interested.

just in step 7 use your copy of the 1.61 firmware don't worry about the 12x jive he's talking about that's older iextreme firmware jargon. just make absolutely sure that your original read firmware is 256kb in size before you use the "make iextreme firmware" command. and make sure the resulting 1.61 firmware is 256 kb in size too. If you have any questions I'd suggest joining that forum as they are great with helping out. Not to knock this forum it is great as well. Hope this is okay to link to another forum if not sorry :(

Thanks pa1215 for replying to my thread. Immediately after posting this thread I went to http://www.stateofthesceneaddress.com/irc/ircconnect.html to try and get live help.

I wasn't dissapointed. Wabashman (I think he's a member of Afterdawn) kindly took me under his wing and helped me troubleshoot what I was doing wrong. Turns out I was using the wrong port (the external port) on the 6421A SATA card. I learned that the correct port to use is the internal SATA 1 port at the rear of the card.

Thanks again for providing me with another method for flashing the 360. It's always nice to have a plan B.
