well first you need to get your error codes for the RROD. if you dont know how to do that, google it. then come back with some more information, and perhaps someone will be able to help you.
Come talk with us on efnet at #elitemods !!! or just click ME

It could be a faulty AV cable so try another one, it could also be a small chance you need the xclamp fix or just some new silver paste on the chips under the heatsinks but only after a VERY good clean, remember to reflow the solder after by heating up the 360 before fully tightening the screws back up after a repaste (plenty of tuts about). At the worst it will be an ANA scaler chip problem near the AV cable input which is not really so good and you would probably have to give it to someone who really knows what their doing with PCB's and testing/fixing or replacing chips or even send it to Microshat which will cost no doubt.

That is one of the toughest errors to fix. A reflow is the only way to fix it. PM me if you want your board reflowed.

he said it was modded so i assume no warranty. I would do an xclamp fix and put new thermal paste on heatsinks. Google xclamp fix and secure the heatsinks to the board and then worst case you need a reflow which most people will charge about $20-$50 for shipped. I would reflow as a last resort.

The xclamp fix is not a good fix, its a hack job more than anything. If he has the option to reflow, then I would suggest he does that instead. Its how M$ fix xboxs.
