OK, yes I am a noob. I just got a PSP 2001IS with CFW 4.01 M33-2. I would like to update my firmware, I have downloaded 5.00 M33-6. Can I update right to the new one or do I have to install 5.00 M33 first. I have read different guides and watched a lot of YouTube video?s on how to do it. It seems each video has different instructions. Do I need to download the Sony 5.00 firmware also? I know whatever files I download I have to copy to the games\update folder and run it from there. I?m just not sure what all I have to put in there.
I was going with 5.00 M33-6 since I have 4.01, or would I be better off going with a different firmware? I know you get these questions over and over but right now I am having a system overload from reading and watching all the videos. If you could suggest a good guide or best video to watch that would help a lot.

ya you can just install 5.00 m33... just put it in the right folder then run it from the XMB if there is anything missing it will tell you... yes you would need the 500 pbp file i believe its called

but really 5.00m33 is not the goal you want to go to the latest 5.50 gen firmware
