HMV slashes PSPgo price

The large retailer HMV has slashed the price of the PSPgo by GBP 75 to GBP 149.99 in the UK, less than two months after its release to less-than-stellar critical reviews.
The handheld started with an MSRP of GBP 224.99 but after one week HMV had already slashed the price to GBP 200 due to lack of demand.

I think it would have been a good idea; but then thay had to go and release it without a phone. What is the point of making it smaller if I'm not going to remember to bring it with me? If they get cheaper than refurbished fats, I might give one a chance...but it is doubtful.

Yeah if it does become hacked and cheaper than I might consider picking it up for the blu tooth.

Its a shame sony is using the same tactic as the PS3, make the hardware cost way more than it should and then shovel it like like garbage for pigs to fight over.
Its not to hard to figure out what the market will clamor for, make the PSPgo run most media types, then allow retailers with digi distro services to sale PSP games(5$ a game plus 25% a sale the retailer can sale the game at any price they chose), then sell the PSP go for 100$ with a 2 year contract to PSN thats about 60$ a year$
Or 200$ without the contract. This would allow them to recoup some losses expand their digi distro market not to mention bring the PSP out of the dark ages IE portable proprietary game market and into the multi function MP/video market they of corse can make the DRM for their PSN stuff so the media from them only work on the go but otherwise its a full feature media player. That would sale better than the DS but yet of coarse they do not want to make money they want to upkeep a monopoly.....

cant believe this was £224.99 when it first came out! same as a PS3!!! and now its the same price as a Xbox 360!

lol!. well if it was hackable for that price im sure many will buy it cuz its smalled with same screen size..but since its a tyrant's wet dream being the monopoly console that it is its gunna collect dust untill the price is low enough for collectors
