By the looks of things though.. it should be something right around the corner? Meaning I should wait to mod it or??? Just by the damn usbxtractor?
Sucks cause I have the GDR 3120L already modded. But the actual Xbox is dead. RROD and fixed many times :(

I was assume a new xtractor will be released. The V2 lite-on's can be dumped by soldering and cutting wires which I'm not about to do. This was the same deal on the BenQ when it was released and now it's like the easiest drive to flash. Just wait, there will be a new tool.

I have both, and they are the same
The one you linked is 257KB and contains only the 74850C firmware. The one leerock linked supposedly contains 7, 8, and 9 series firmware and is 724KB.

LOL. I just downloaded it. Maybe they updated it? Still whats the point if you can't write to those drives yet? I just went to pothsprojects and they updated theirs too.

I think because this is the "actual" firmware as opposed to the "dummy bin" it spits out when you try to flash it. Plus, something tells me we will be needing these soon. :)

because up until now, there was no way possible of returning a lite-on back to stock (like what you can do with every other drive).

so is it definitely confirmed that these will work?
here is my story:
in sept bought a rrod 360 pro off ebay and got m$oft to repair for free.
as soon as i got the 360 back i flashed it and tried 1 game for 3 minutes time tops,(brutal legend) to make sure that i did it right. *this was only the 2nd 360 that i had flashed.*
the system has NEVER been online since receiving back from m$oft, and has NOT had another game in it since.
actually come to think of it, i'm not sure that the system has even been powered on since mid-october.
ever since my elite got pinched, i've been regretting flashing that pro.
now with this info, as i read it, i should be able to reflash that system back to "factory fresh" and use it like nothing (other than brutal legend) has happened? and hopefully without fear of a ban?
sorry for the long post, just want to make myself clear. hopefully i was able to achieve that...i am typing this instead of working at the moment. heehee.

I am in a similar situation as the post above. I managed to go offline in mid-october. which saved me from the ban hammer. havent been online yet (waiting for LT). I been playing my backups tho. (played mw2 before release patched to wave 3). Now, if i download this ofw for my 74850 and flash it back to stock. will i be safe if i go online?

this is NOT my file, but i found it over at xbox-scene.com in a thread regarding these f/w's.
i have tried 30-40 time over the last 3 days to restore my sisters stock f/w with the bad 74 dump.
with the above file, i had absolutely NO issues. the 360 is back to NOT reading backups and only playing retail.
this is great since her 360 has NEVER been on live.
hopefully this will help keep someone else from pulling their hair out like me.

posted this on another thread but thought it might interest some people here
Ok guys so i Finally got the balls, so i went for it. I went from 1.6 CFW to 7485 OFW. Went online (HDD disconnected) and BAM..no ban (yet). I currently dont have GOLD membership which might make a difference (idk). But im online. Managed to download some demos. and still online. Like i mentioned before, i managed to go offline from mid - october, i had no GOLD by that time also.
Flashing method (may be it made a difference)
1.went online without drive connected to console
2.Updated
3. Flashed back to stock
4. Xbox live up and running. :D
ima give it sometime before i upgrade to gold
