I have been asking questions on afterdawn and googling around a lot for a couple of days, and there are just so many different kinds of cracks for x360 to be able to understand what should be done first, and then next because one source considers you have used this system before, so they skip hardware changes, but others tell about these hardware steps, or add them because they are needed on that particular method, etc.

Here is what I am trying to do for a couple of days around:
1. Be able to find a way with no hardware changes on x360
2. Be able to find a way without modchip
3. Be able to revert back to original when I want/need
4. Be able to update the FW version I have later on when newer releases/features gets available.
5. I have xbox 360 elite, with lite-on harddrive.

Now, tell me, one by one, does:
1)iprep
2)jungle flasher
3)dosflash
require any hardware set-ups AND/OR tear apart x360 to see/read some specific code AND/OR connect a specific device to pc?

Thanks for your assistance.

You're going to have to take apart the 360 for any of the flashing/mods.

Iprep/JF/etc all do basically the same thing, some just automate certain parts of the process.

On the Liteon drive, once you flash, you aren't going to be able to revert back to original firmware.

What do I need to take it apart for? To solder the pins? or just connect the device to pc?

Why can't I revert it? If I backup the original FW, then flash the original FW back, I will get back to original, don't I?

Well it's not REALLY outdated. I noticed it go up yesterday.. but I would assume that since it's upped you could flash back to stock. But only with the original drive I believe.

And so it means it can be reverted back to original?

if there is no bumping allowed, then site should put an "edit post" link on somewhere clear, so i can edit my post.

anywayz, thanks for telling me about the sticky, it helped me a lot, thank you.

it really, really, REALLY did make me understand much thing i didnt understand.

NOW, as of a really short question;
I saw this guide to mod xbox 360 before, it was making it so i can connect sata cable from outside when i need to, so i wouldnt have to disassemble the x360 again later on. Does anyone know where it is? I cannot find it..

The site has one. Its that piece of paper with a pencil right in the upper right hand corner of every one of your posts.

This site doesn't baby you, you're expected to do some searching on your own, and find the basic info explained in the FAQs, guides, etc.

The site doesnt have to "baby" me.
All it has to be is to become some more "user friendly" and use better GUI.

a little "edit" with small size next to the icon wouldnt hurt anyone.

And you should know RULE 8
8. Don't reply with an off-topic comment

the topic is not the site being have to or not have to baby anyone.

As to get back to the topic, I was going to ask if anyone finds hand-made probes useful/trustful? Or might they burn/brake the system?
I believe I need one during the process, right?
edit: oops, saw it now, yes, I do need one. but really, are hand-made ones fine?
