I've been reading on a possible tool to be released for the new V2 Lite-ons. Since they can now be dumped, even though it requires soldering and cutting. I know the first gens' were similar until the xtractors were released. Anyone know or read if a new one is to be released? I see they can dump the firmware, but can only spoof to another drive. That's closer.

Oh wow, so, they can only be read and not written to? I was under the impression they had been completely compromised.

I know the firmware template is now out, but I haven't read anywhere where someone has written to the drive yet. So they haven't even written the firmware probably since LT will be out soon.

i REALLY hope that is not the case and just come out with a new software. I happen to have CK3 with probe but a V2 liteon...CK4 would be just freaking annoying. I wouldn't mind if they came out with a new probe but a whole kit... that would just bring tears to my eyes...

I'd bet on them releasing a new item entirely, rather than throw money they could be making away by just releasing an update.

aye.... financially it would make sense...but we all know it could be avoided... if thats the case I have no choice but to sell my ck3 <:(

.... maybe there is someone out there with an older 360 and never modded before :-/ lol
I just hope (seriously) that there is no CK4...that would be really f'ed up.

It's better than soldering. One mod for me would pay for it if I ever decide to charge for that again. Either way, I dumb keys for every customer even if they don't want it modded. That way, if the drive dies I have a backup. Either way I'm fine, but prefer your method of course.

I thought I read they were talking a modchip. Also, I see they have released 1.6 firmware for both the 8v2 and the 9 series Lite On's.
Still no LT though.
