Trying to find a way to watch BR's on my PS3 from an external HD. I have read alot but see alot of people say that the files are bigger than the PS3 can handle. Any way to do this?
ps3 doesnt have size restrictions that Fat32 does, bc the system isnt formated in fat 32, u need a special program to format a hdd larger then 32gb without making partitions, if u make multiple partions of fat32 on the external only 1 will show up on the ps3 xmb, i cant remember the program as i did it to my external on vista and now i got win7, so... but others will know, but the max fat32 can handle is 4gb, mostly m2ts files are exactly 4gb, some m2ts maybe a few bytes over and read 4gb, these wont copy onto fat32 but will copy over your network. blueray rips are usualy only 720p and are 8gigs, and even larger if they are full hd, so i recomend using m2ts files, they are full hd and have good audio, the most i ever copied over from a single file was 8 gigs, so it doesnt have much if any restrictions on file size.
Free partition software if you want to create more than 1 partition,if not just use "computer management" to format the drive

Any movie above 4gb in size if it's a single file will need to be split into smaller pieces
