Take for example Madagascar Kartz and Planet 51. On a HD tv, which versions of those games will look better when played on their respective platforms? The XBox 360 is hooked up via HDMI and Wii via component cable. 360 will be in 720P mode (all the TV can handle) and Wii in 480P. Neither game appears to tax either system but can somebody speak from personal experience? I know games like Ghostbusters, Dirt and Need for Speed look way better on the 360 compared to their Wii counterparts but kids games with cartoon type gfx I think would be about the same on each. Another one I'm wondering about is that new Spongebob game that came out. Get the 360 or Wii version?
Dude how OLD are you??? 360 versions most always look way better. Most of the time the 360 version and the wii version are not the same and not even made by the same devs...

Man, ease up. I'm asking for my daughter. Last time I checked, the devloper of the game (in the case of Planet 51) makes all the different versions for all the consoles. Pyro Studios.
I have a Wii and an XB360. I know that the gfx intensive stuff (like Dirt, Need for Speed, etc) looks WAY better on the 360 than they do on the Wii. But games like the ones I'm talking about..... with cartoon like gfx, how much better can they REALLY be on the 360 vs Wii. Case in points, all the LEGO games. To me, they pretty much look the same on the Wii as they do the 360 since they aren't beefy games gfx wise.

The Wii focuses on motion-controls, so get the Wii version if you want new-style controls.
I have both systems. Had the Wii for a few years and the 360 for a few weeks. I'm starting to build my 360 library but prefer to get games for the Wii if they're going to look about the same on either system (like the LEGO games) since the Wii has the ability to play games from USB. For gfx intensive games, I know to get the 360 versions but for kid type games....... if all things are equal gfx wise, I'd lean towards the Wii for the USB stuff.
Does anyone have both systems and can see a big difference between Planet 51 on Wii vs Planet 51 on the 360?

I was just kidding! ;-) I play those games with my 10 year old all the time. I have both and i promise you the 360 version of planet 51 will look better...

A friend of mine just bought a big ass HDTV and has a PS3. I'm going to go over some time (not sure if he has any of the LEGO games or a game that was produced for the PS3 and Wii that ISN'T gfx intensive) so I can see with my own eye balls.
I'd carry out this simple test myself but my wife let me rip apart the 360 just so I could verify it wasn't going to RRoD on me and mod it. She doesn't want me playing with it until Xmas. :(
Guess I'll get Planet 51 for the 360 (already have P51 for the Wii) and will wait until Dec. 25. If what you say is correct, my daughter is gonna have to go back to the archaic action of getting off the couch and swapping the DVD when she wants to play a new game vs just going back to the Homebrew channel on the Wii, launching the USB loader and just clicking on another game. :)
