I know they are posts here with ppl with this problem but mine is a bit different... when i turn on my wii it goes straight to a black screen, wii motes are not connected, have to hold down power button for 4 seconds to turn off, tv does not recogize that wii is connected, savemiifrii doesnt work, holding reset to try to load preloader after power button is pressed doesnt work (preloader .30 was installed), holding y button on gc controller doesnt bring up anything (starfall was installed).. nothing ive seen while googlein works or even gets a different result... screen just stays black.. i am prepared to accept that my wii is fully bricked but will still like to know my options.. i dont live in the states i live in Trinidad (in the caribbean) an the cost to mail it in to nintendo plus the 75S US or so fee ive seen ppl talkin about will cost pretty close to or maybe even more than buying a new wii... anyone can help me? i would hate to hear that this wii is no longer usable atall seein that i jus bought it last week in bestbuy in miami.. thanks in advanced..
shouldve mentioned that this is what i was doing before it bricked.. i was on 4.2u but some of my games werent working in usb loader gx so i followed this guide http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=quljsqa0MSo&feature=related to downgrade to 3.2.. that went perfect... then i continued on to update to 4.1... then after everthing inslatted sucessfully an the wii rebooted it went to the black screen...
By the sounds of it your wii is not loading from the start which points to a hardware problem i have no idea how to fix this. If a pc was to do this i would look at replacing various bits of hardware this is not very possible with a wii probably cheaper to buy a new one. Sorry to give bad news but maybe someone with more experience with wii,s can diagnose the problem and help more.
This is why I don't mess with downgraders. It is very easy to mess up something serious. (And just for the record too, I dont see how downgrading was supposed to help. Most likely you just needed to install a few game-specific IOS patches that you were missing)
It seems you've already tried all the usual methods for trying to recover from a brick, I don't know anything else to suggest.
Maybe if you call nintendo support and explain your location situation they'll give you a discount or cover part of the shipping costs.
Actually, it should be still under warranty if you just got it.

well it wasnt really the downgrader that messed it up as it downgraded to 3.2 fine an i shudve stayed there but i tried to update it to 4.1 which is where it went wrong :(... and i tried installing all the suggested ios patches for the games i was using it just wasnt working.. but the games were good for sure cause i used it on another system.. i checked nintendo support website an they said the dont cover warranties from my country :( thanks for the reply.
