I have done the firmware flash about two years ago and had no problems burning back-ups, but this last time I decided to play Modern Warfare 2, for which I got an image off the internet and burned it onto a Verbatim double-layered DVD using ImgBurn at 1x speed, with the layer break set to 1913760 (everything like I've always done). Please also note that nothing in my burning procedure, nor in my xbox has changed (well, maybe except a dashboard update). But when I put it into the xbox to play, it displayed XBOX 360 and nothing happened.

One other thing that happened is that when I ran the iso file through the XDVDMulleter v. 10, it displayed "Video file is broken, invalid, or not present. Would you like to fix?" I chose no, and then found out on this site that XDVDMulleter is no longer supported and that I should now use abgx360 instead. I loaded the iso into it and it didn't show anything bad about it either.

I know I'm probably behind on what has happened with xbox 360 for the past year :) Can some point me in the right direction, what shall I do to burn this game correctly?

My xbox specs:

Firmware: MS28 iXtreme 1.4-8x
DVD Drive Type: Toshiba-Samsung (I think)

Update the firmware on your xbox to 1.61 (benq and samsung only) or 1.51 if you have an hitachi drive as modern warfare 2 is wave 4 game, also xdvdmulleter is well outdated, you need abgx360 to check games now.

STOP using Mulleter, just stay with ABGX, youll be fine if you can play wave 4, otherwise, move along.

Wow, thank you all! So all I need to play this game is ixtreme 1.61. I haven't done it for a long time. I know there was Textbook For Noobs in pdf or something. Does it still hold, or do I need something updated? Any links to refresh my knowledge, guys?

try going to the xbox site and getting the latest updates for your consol down load them onto your pc flirt them onto a mem stick and then insert that into your xbox (where you put a controller in) and turn it on and let the xbox update from the mem stick.

thats all i did and im playing wave 4 games fine now just got dragons age and it plays fine !.

and i do the same as you download and burn using imgburn at 2.4x on verbatim duel layer discs.

heres the link for the update page download it save it where ever you want and then send it to a mem stick instead of burning it to a cd like you are instructed to do on the page.

http://support.xbox.com/support/en/us/xb...stoconsole.aspx

maybe a mod or some one can put this link some place safe so everyone can easily access it ?.

I did downloading by going to xbox Live and downloaded updates like that. Is it bad that I did it now? I just didn't know that one can download them on a PC and put them on a jump stick.

BTW, 2012_EVIL, please correct the link -- you posted it with ...

Also woadi754, thanks for the link!
