I have a Wiinja Deluxe and a 3.4 Wii or something like that. Haven't updated in like a year or so.

Sorry in advance but i have searched and my findings are that If i update my wii i will lose the region free setting on my chip ??

I just bought the original NSMB game as i know the back ups aren't working, but will the original even work on my wii ? Will i have to update it to play it and will the update do anything to the chip??

Wow, I haven't heard the Wiinja name in a really long time.

Anyway, you seem a little confused and/or out of date.

Updating your wii might break the region override on your chip, but you can restore that by installing homebrew channel and gecko OS. Not everyone is having issues with this though. So I'm not sure what it is related to exactly.

Backups are mostly working of the new mario game. You just need to patch the iso. For some reason, people with some modchips still have issues with it. I know that the wiikey 1 seems to have problems. No idea about the Wiinja Deluxe though. You'd have to test that.

If the backup doesn't work. You still have options. Thanks to homebrew advances you can actually load the game onto your SD card or a USB drive and play it off there.

Original copies of the game work with no issues on all modchips though, so you shouldn't have any problems with it.

You will have to update to play it from the original disk, but it shouldn't effect your modchip function aside from the region override.

Thanks for the info. Yes i am welll out of date. Haven't done anything for over a year.

Will update my wii and see how it goes. I mostly only play pal games anyways so i don't see that being an issue really.

I've seen a few posts on here about someone's guide for installing homebrew ???

Is that the best guide ? Will look for the link now just incase i will need it.

Thanks again for your help.

The USB loader is very nice. I started using it not too long ago and love it.
