The NPD Group has released its latest survey, dubbed Kids and Gaming 2009, and the results show that 82 percent of all American 2-17 year-olds considers themselves "gamers."
NPD says about 55.7 million kids currently game in the US, with the smallest group being two-to-five year olds at 9.7 million. The largest segment is nine-to-eleven year olds at 12.4 millions.

Dip in teen usage for gaming... Hrm.. Spending elsewhere... Could it be, they have a social life? Could it be, they focus on their sexual desires and needs as well? I know when I was a teen I went out chasing tail. I still gamed sure, but you can't fight hormones.
my niece was playing a gba by the time she was two. she now knows more about the pc at age 6 then my grandparents do at age 60. its not really a big deal schools are putting kids into computer class younger and younger. games are just a by-product of that :D and that even a dog can play a wii :D
