Okay I'm new to this modding thing on the wii. I don't have an internet connection for it since i don't use a wireless router. I soft modded it through the hackmii exploit. I added the homebrew channel and did the dvd hack too but when i try playing dvd's with mplayer it says loading and freezes. I searched the net and found out i need to install "IOS" or something i downloaded the Hermes CIOS 222 rev 4 installer but i need an internet connection to get the files. Don't know what IOS is i want to play my backed up iso's this site has never failed me and i know it will pull through again.
By the way my wii firmware is 3.1U.

You might want to have a look HERE first to see what you did or didnt do. There are quite a bit of files that need to be installed.

tried it out got all files and it worked. just thought it wouldn't work since at the start it says i need wifi and since i don't have a wireless router i thought i couldn't do it. but i tried it and it did work anyway and with a micro sd card and an adapter even though it says i shouldn't do it and that i needed a regular sd card. thanks.
