Okay several questions for all you wondeful folks out there who have helped me in the past: I have CFW 4.01 M33-2 on my PSP slim. I installed it myself with the pandora a battery and a Magic Memory Stick. I have felt no need to update until now. I have recently attempted to download and install several games, all of which WILL NOT work with my CFW (all my other games from before work great still). The other problem is, some how I wiped out my magic memory stick! Yeah I know stupid! So in lies the problems and the questions:
1) Should I update to the latest CFW? (Keep in mind I do nothing with my PSP except play games and watch movies, no other homebrew stuff) If so how without my MMS?
2) How do I upgrade from 4.01 to the latest?
3)If I do not need to upgrade is there a patcher that will work with my PSP ISO's to make them play with CFW 4.01 M33-2?
4) Am I asking to many dumb a** questions? Sorry:(
5) I was reading a little bit about this chickHEN for upgradeing, is that a better option for me? What do I need to do if so?
Any help as usual is greatly appreciated, as i said before I don't keep up with things very close because I didn't think I would need to upgrade......silly me.
yes ok that firmware will not support the latest files if you know what i mean, you will need to update your system from the 4.01 to 5.50d2 you can do this without a mms or pandora, as its a program that goes onto your memory stick, just google it and you will find a walkthrough, i cant remember what the site is called, but you have got to flash your psp with 5.50d, its realy simple, then update it with 5.50d2 thats the patch that will allow you to play the latest files, hope this helps........
chickhen is unrelated to your situation... its for people who have unhackable motherboards... since you've alreayd had custom firmware installed you have no use for chickhen
It worked: I am now the proud owner of 5.50gen-D, along with a nice SNES emulator and the newest DaedalusX64. The games are now working great! Thanks for all the help guys! Peace out!
