So i downloaded call of duty Modern warfare and abx it and its wave 4 and everything looks good and i burned the activation ISO properly. I load the ISO into the xbox360 it goes into the white screen, I press the eject button and insert COD and it just says "play DVD"
I tried a differentgame GTA EOLC and it says the same thing. what could possibly be wrong?
Im on 1.61 on a samsung m28 drive and i can't figure it out.
Im considering patching the waves down to play these games but Im not banned yet. and im sure if i do that i increase my chances. i really want to sort this out before i go that direction and patch them down
how long does it take to burn the activation boot disc? its 259mbs and it took about 45 mins to burn, more like 1 minute to burn and 44 to finalize the disc. Did anyone else experience this?
if youve got 6.1 you dont need the activation disc.
if it doesnt work without the activation disc its not 6.1 try reflashing to 6.1 or get 6 and use the disc with that.
when burning your disc if your using img burn change the layerbreak setting from user specified "1913760" to calculate optimal.
it has to burned to a dual layer disc and burned onto just the first layer.when you start burning it will ask you this just click yes and it should start burning.

kgleeson is right though, with 1.61 wave 4 games should just boot as normal.

10: Insert the Activate.iso disk into your xbox 360. It will read for a little longer than usual then finally it will say ?Play DVD?. Press ?A? on your controller and a video should pop saying, ?Play this disk in an xbox 360 console?.
This is how you know you?ve burned the iso sucessfully!!
11: Now just eject the Activate.iso disk and insert your unstealthed, modified or Hybrid disk and it will load!!!

I'm positive I installed 1.61, I got it from xbins. so you're telling me with 1.61 it should boot without the activation disc? and is it safe to go online if stealth in Abx?
i just don't get why its not working.. just to give you a run down of what i did
I opened Image burn
went under the write options and clicked on Calculate Optimal. selected the write speed at 2.4x selected the book type for DVD + DL dvd rom. and burned the ISO on the first layer. it took about 45 minutes which i found weird since the file is small.
only thing i can think of is that booth wave four games im trying i downloaded from torrent sites, I ran them on ABX and it detected the right game and patched them correctly so it shouldn't be a problem.
should i Downgrade to 1.6 and try the disc that way?
try 1.6
if your downloading it make sure its 1.6 repack.
the other 1.6 is actually 1.5
first before you downgrade try your game without the activation disc.
so i took another look and saw that the firmware installed on my xbox was in fact 1.5!!!! O.O!! i dont know how that happened but i went and flashed it to 1.61 and it fixed my problem!! Im soo happy!! thanks for your help everyone!
I was just gifted a modded 360, with the Liteon drive, supposedly flashed to 1.6. My Wave 3 backups all play fine, however the one Wave 4 (MW2) backup I have tried will not play no matter what I try. I insert the MW2 backup after using the Activation.iso, and all that happens is the Xbox 360 logo displayed on the screen. I don't get it.
I have read a couple similar stories here and elsewhere.
So I am wondering if the console is really flashed to 1.6, and not an older version? Is there any way to tell for sure?
