Disk backup? D'you mean... a) making/playing backup discs (aka pirated games), or b) saving it onto the 360's hard drive?

I think you can back it up into the drive but you will still need the disk to run it. Basically your just running it from your drive with the disk in trey not much of a pro.
Except that it minimizes the use of the DVD laser, which optimizes its lifespan. That's definitely a plus in my book. That's also why I install data to my PS3 whenever possible.
It is a plus in expanding the drives life span but he is talking about physically backing up your games to play with out the original. For me it is not that big of a deal nothing lasts forever and I don't think the drive will go so easily.
For games both systems can go toe to toe except for those exclusive flagships(Halo,ect)but with media I feel ps3 tips the scale.

Yeah...I am very carefull with my disks, plus PS3 disks have that anti-scratch coating like all bluray disks do...but I still don't like having to use the actual disks. I would prefer to install and put the disk away; so that I could play the game just like PSN games. Truth be told, I wish all games were available on the PSN; even if there was no gamesharing...I don't like swapping disks.
More than this, the PS3/360 is used by a lot of kids...and kids DESTROY disks...even "scratch resistant" bluray disks. For the price of buying a replacement disk once, you could make over 50 DVD backups. Of course, it would be even better if you could just install it to the hard drive...and put the disks in a fireproof safe.
