Ok, so I looked everywhere if it is possible but besides some dumb(and I'm sure fake) blog entries that say that it's possible I couldn't really find anything.
I read that the problem is that the Blu-Ray Games aren't as easy to copy as DVD Games. Can you maybe back the games up to the PS3's HDD and then use some program to play them without the disc?
I couldn't find any PS3 modchips...
And a totally different question:
Are there mod chips for the new version of the Wii?

lol you obviously didnt look well enough, there are numerous threads on this board on the subject.
You can back up games, but they are useless as vital information is missing, and the PS3 hasnt been hacked.

ok, and does anyone think the ps3 could still get hacked? I mean it's been a while since it came out and there's still no chip.
Are the Blu-Rays the problem? Why wouldnt they be able to be copied like DVDs. I mean theres software to copy normal bd-discs

The PS3 will be hacked at some stage in its life

Blu rays arnt the problem to as why the PS3 isnt hacked, saying that, PS3 games have unique keys that only Sony know, so without those keys, there is no way of sucessfully backing up a PS3 game for retail machines.

There is nothing keeping us from making images...and it isn't the bluray that protects the disks, it is the fact that they are pressed. The protection would work just as well if it was on CD...so long as it was pressed. We know the keys...we just have no method of using them.
The PS3 will be broken...but it will probably be a crack that only allows for offline play...and it might not become available until the PS4, XboX720, and wIII are available.

Your wrong we dont know the keys, as each disc has a unique key.
Also, the disc's that are copied via retail machines, or Blu ray drives are useless as they are missing chunks of information, they are also missing the keys i have stated this a million times.
Quote: Whenever you insert a disc (bluray one that is) the ps3 drive will look at a special area of the disc called BD ROM-Mark.
The ROM-Mark contains a certificate/key (signed by sony) which can be read by any drives but the data from it wont leave the usual bluray drives' ram space. This area is part of the official bluray specifications from the Bluray Disc Association (BDA) and is also use by bluray movies to authenticate a genuine movie disc and needs to be signed by whoever is credited to author bluray discs and produce them (only a few companies are as far as I am aware of), although I suspect the key for the blu-ray games to be unique so only sony can sign the ROM-Mark content on BD-ROM games.

The only way to backup and be able to play a burnt b/r at this point in time is on a test/debug ps3.

I had a feeling he was. But come on, that kind of stuff was done in 2007, I've heard that stuff like that so many times. Anyways, hacking the PS3 has come along way and custom firmware is looking to be released Q2 2010, but an ISO Loader has to be made as well.

If you know so, then your an idiot, dont tell me what is and what isnt going to be made, because your wrong
For you to know CFW will be available, then you woukld also have to know that the PS3 is already hacked, which it isnt.
Also dont come in a thread spouting rubbish and being rude or ignorant to all the people in it.

If there was a cfw being made, it would be no good as there is no exploit available to install it via, also if the exploit to install a cfw was available, we would already be seeing homebrew etc... popping up all over the place, and talk of the exploit would be all over the net. So unless you can post specific details prooving your claim, it never happened.
