OK everyone, I am a complete n00b and I just got in to this whole wii modding thing. I had my wii apparently modded at a place that does mods etc near my home. I was told that all I have to do is just burn an iso through nero, make sure the cd is finalized and the games work. Wishful thinking I guess, it didn't work, I took the console the store, they told me that it should work, they stuck a spores cd they created (you can tell the cd is a "backup") and it worked. I brought the backups I made and they said the problem could be that it was burnt on a +r DVD not a -r dvd. I went home, made a copy on the free -r dvd they gave me to try with and it didn't work. At this point I didn't know what to do. I was able to install the homebrew channel after a lot of work and reading.
I then was able to install hackmii v0.6 and run it but for some reason when i updated my cIOS I think i may have messed my homebrew channel up because when I try and launch my bootmii, my led just flashes and my wii freezes and requires a hard reset. I also am unable to update my Cios, it also just freezes my system.
What am I doing wrong? I tried everything. How can I play my backups? I don't want to use my original DVDs to save from scratching.
