Hi , i know this has been talked about so much but just want it clearing up if possible...ok so i got banned with my modded 360 in november as did nearly everybody else....i have since purchased a new elite with a new hdd. Will i be able to use my existing gamertag and if so is it safe to do so...the old hdd will never be going beck onto the new console and the new one will only be playing original games. am i ok to re-cover ot or shall i just start afresh.....

So no problems then?....new console and new hdd safe with re-covered gamer tag.......sorry to harp on but just dont want to waste £200 again

today i got a core refurbished, put my banned hdd and recovered my gamertag, didnt get any trouble whatsoever, even my saves werent corrupted (PHEWWW!) only my gamertag
so yeah, youre fine

i dont understand, your saves were corrupted but your gamertag wasnt? How do you play the saves if you cant get on your gamertag?

err i got that backwords and cant figure out how to edit here (newbie status i suppose?). Was supposed to be
"your saves werent corrupted but your gamertag was, so how can you play your saves if you cant get on your gamertag"

sorry about the misunderstanding
since i got banned on nov6 my gamertag got corrupted on my HDD and my xbox got handicapped.
today i got a an unbanned xbox, put my hdd, DELETED my corrupted gamertag and THEN recovered it on my HDD.
was commenting how happy i was my saves didnt appear as corrupted as well.

oh wow I didnt know that would work. So simply deleting the GT wont delete the saves then just recover the profile and your saves are good to go! Thanks, that's a good tip to know (and certainly a lot easier than opening the HD, connecting it to a PC and doing hex editing)

just make sure when you delete the gamertag you just delete the profile ONLY, not profile AND items
and about the saves, from what i`ve heard is that if you dont overwrite them on a banned xbox they will not get corrupted.
thats why they are hex editing tools

oh damn, I've used my HD on a banned system with saves and achievements and everything, so I guess this wont work for me :\
