I have a samsung sh d163d, where can i find the kreon firmware for this drive?

but if you've done any reading, you would know that people don't recommend using that to rip games anymore if you plan to go on live with the disc

No. Not necessarily. there will "more than likely" be a new version of Kreon available. But don't ask me when.

The shop i bought the drive inform me that i can use the firmware for the 162d, but in a greek forum, told me that if i do so, i will harm the drive.Is it true? Thank you.

he is guessing about it. Right now we don't know if Kreon is working on a new version of the firmware, or even if the drive can support ssv2. Just do the smart thing and get a drive and flash it with 0800

0800 can only be put on xbox 360 drives....

What is the difference between buying another drive for xbox and buying another samsung and install to it the kreon firmware?
Sorry for my bad English, iam from Greece and also i dont know many things about this subject

listen up. This is not that hard. If you don't know much about the topic it only means that you haven't taken the time out to get to know about the subject. Here we go, instead of getting a samsung drive to flash with the kreon firmware, get a spare xbox 360 drive and flash it with the 0800 ixtreme firmware. For now you can only use the lite-on, Samsung, or the BenQ drive to do this. Hitachi are compatable yet or may never be.

So i have to 2 options buy a samsung sh-d162d for my pc or better buy a new drive for my x box. the second is the best options,right?

yes, the second option is best at the moment because it is guaranteed to get the job done. DealExtreme has an xbox 360 drive for pretty cheap if you can stand the time it takes to ship. it is only speculation that there will be a new firmware made for the 162d drive :)

True. Only speculating, which is why I put quotation marks around "more than likely". As big as this 360 mod scene is, I just don't see how they could leave us "hanging" without some form of update.

Ok i fouund the drive from dealextreme. One final question:The second option is quaranteed, you mean that if i choose the first option there is a possibility i cant copy games?

No.. you can still back up your games, but it will not catch additional angles from the kreon rip and will get you banned from xbox live :( but, there is always the possibility that kreon will update the firmware :)

PLEASE HELP!
I bought a samsung SH-163b with kreon.
I`m not going online for the moment but is there any way to find out witch games are SS V1 and SSV2??
The older games are proberly SS V1 i presume, so should not have to copy them again, only the newer ones with SS V2. Then there should be a list of witch games are what angle.

The 0800 firmware is just for drives that is flashed with the ix1.6 firmware. BenQ, Lite-On, Samsung will do the trick. Hitachi isn't compatible.

but remember you need to get power to the drive without take the xbox apart. So you need to buy a connectivity kit or something
