DL dvd for reg size game/neogamma?

I wanted to back up my metroid prime 3 game and the only dvds i have are dual layer would it still work on my wii or would i need to have a regular dvd?

the wii reads dual layer and the game you have is complete and working no reason why it shouldn't dual layer dearer than regular ones though

ok, I've been seeing online that to back up my newer games i need neogamma or certain ios numbers do i need them or would my regular back up loader channel work? I have 3.2u softmod. I tried my new super mario bros and wii gator flashed green which was good until it just froze on the green screen.

i got cios dvd dumper 1.2 and larryjl's guide of here it tells you how to upgrade and google the downloader mario game is fine for me.
