So today it finally happened, i got banned.. and my hardrive crippled.. yay :)

so now my new basic plan is to buy a second box and not flash it, and only buy games where the online intrests me/there is alot of DLC that i want, but i have a couple of questions first

i hear that when you plug an hdd into a banned console it will flag certain data, making it impossible for a legit 360 to read it (im assuming game saves and achievments and such)

so basically what im asking is, what should i do here, should i make a second offline profile to play all my burned games on, and sign into this one when im on the offline one

or can i delete the profile, recover it on the unmodded xbox and then be able to jump back and forth with the same profile without any trouble? (what about dlc and stuff like that?)

thanks :)

when you plug you hdd into the banned console, all profiles become corrupted, so to fix this when you want to play on your unmodded box simple delete the profile but keep all game saves, than recover your profile from xbox live, however you can not use the banned xbox for achievments since you need to recover it, that's about it

so basically i can use the same profile, but everytime i switch to the online legitimate one, i need to recover the gamertag again?

what about if i unbork my hardrive, will this solve the problem?

This is the first I've heard of it in some time. If true, this lends to the theory that they have something automated in place, that bans will happen constantly from now forward.

any profile you plug into the banned 360 immediately is corrupted to any other xbox until you recover from xbox live servers

So game saves do not corrupt?
Also, I have a question. I have a banned console and a legit console. My banned console has a 512MB card and the legit has 120GB. I have forza for my banned console which to get the rest of the cars you need to install disc 2. Will I be banned if the hard drive is swapped between the two consoles? Will the install data be corrpu on the legit console?

Before, back about a year ago actually, but i was on live pretty regularly during the ban wave actually, and then today it just happened

also ive got one more question, basically my new plan now is to go out and buy an arcade + 60 gig hd, and what im going to do is use my old 120 gig hd on my new console, recover my gamertag and use that one for my legit online one, then im going to take the 60 gig and make a new offline account and use it on my modded one, if i put a new hd in that wasnt crippled, will i be able to install games again? (on the banned console)

Your plan will not work for the simple fact that the hdd is cripled by the information on the console. So any hdd you put on that banned console will have it's gamertag crippled. You have to follow a tutorial that will clear the crippling secdata so you can resume normal function of your console. This is not an unban so don't get any ideas. It just removes crippling and allows you to install games to the hdd again.

You can just buy a transfer kit for your HDD hook it up to your CPU and uncorrupt/unflag the files that are showing up as corrupt so you don't have to recover it and lose all your achievements and gamesaves.

Google "How to Uncorrupt Xbox 360 Profile and Saves after ban"... Worked fine for me and I'm back on Live..

No no no no. your xbox 360 was given instructions from micro$oft to corrupt gamertags. any new or old, or maybe hard drives from the future will have its tag corrupted. you have to uncripple your box first which involves some soldering. google uncrippling and you will find some tutorials.

SOME ONE PLEASE MAKE AN ULTIMATE TREARD TO LIFE AFTER BANNED!!!

it should include info on how to uncripple your xbox 360 by flashing your NAND

How to use your HDD by deleting and recovering your corrupted profile on a new box.

How to use explorer360 to uncorrupt your profile

every time i log on now i see a thread that someone asks "so if i use my hdd on another xbox will i be banned?" and if i google this i find that some people actually believe and tell others that they will be banned! how ridiculous...

so please can we get some thread life after banned started with a FAQ and a few tuts posted? I dont have enough time to invest into it so i cant keep it going if i start it but i can post links and I have researched and help answer questions if needed.

thanks

You know, we actually have no way to be sure that MS won't do this in the future, they may not legally be able to ban the console, but if you bring achievements over from a modded console and they can detect it via information stored on the HD, they sure could ban your gamertag.

Sorry to go on about this Genesis but this is one of the first new bannings a lot of us have heard of in a few weeks.

You say you were online regularly through the ban wave. Does that mean you have been on regularly since? If not can you remember roughly when the last time you were online was prior to being banned a couple of days ago?

I don't know much about the actual file itself. I have tried to use a flag remover tool and a checksum tool to salvage my saves and profile without success (and thats about the extend of my knowledge with this part of the xbox 360) but i didn't see how M$ would know the difference. I am ONLY GUESSING HERE(just to clarify that i have no credibility before someone repeats what i say) but they couldn't identify unless they stamped the time of the achievement with the MAC of the old box. and even if they did do that, someone would just write a program to just alter that part of the time stamp. dont people swap tags to other boxes all the time and gain achievements? dont see how it would be any different than that if they were hacked and uncorrupted.

if you knew about the ban wave happening, why did u still play on it regularly? you knew the risk, if i were you, i wouldn't sign on into xbox live when LT is out.
