ive installed several wii games that i have onto my hard drive using the installer on usb loader gx. I use the original copies, put them in the wii, and copy them to my HDD. so far, i copied Raving Rabbits, Mario Party 8, and Wii Sports Resort.

For some reason, when i try to run the games, all i get is a black screen. There is no warning, error, code list, or whatnot. I have to hold the power button to power it down and reboot the wii. I tried mixing up the settings, but no go.

Does anybody have a solution for this? Any response would be truly helpful.

What version of USB Loader Gx do you have? Similarly, what cIOS Rev do you have?

I've seen this problem as well - it doesn't seem to like copying backup games from Disc to USB - starts copying quickly then slows right down to a crawl - the resulting copy does not then run.

USB loader Gx is very buggy and unstable. You might be better off venturing into other USB loaders. Configurable USB loader comes to mind. You can try that.

well, i have tried configurable usb loader, and i could not get that to work, so i figured i would go to usb loader GX. Perhaps i should try the normal usb loader?

also is there any other loaders that load back ups from a usb HDD? does it have to be in WBFS format?

also, if i were to restart this process all over again, since i do not know where i messed up, is it okay to simply reinstall everything over the stuff i have now? for example, run bootmii and install HBC and such over again?

It is hard to find a version of USB Loader GX that work really well with cIOS38 Rev14. Although I know for a fact such a version exists. An update to cIOS38 Rev 15 is an option. Primarily, you load games using IOS249. Hermes' cIOS is secondary, but nonetheless a valid option. Updating an IOS when booting games via a USB loader is irrelevant as you are exclusively using cIOSes (IOS249 or IOS222 in this case) to load the games.

ok heres a thew things you should try since i have had much experience with usb loader GX and had no troubles at all but tell me what system version you are running on to see if i can help you in any way

#1 try using wanikoko's IOS downgrader
#2 you can try burning them onto dic and load them from the wii disc channel by installing icefire's cIOSCORP but thats a last thing do only
#3 try using any region changer to downgradeor use nus downloader to install as a wad
#4 use Dop-IOS to install latest ios for you system version you best to have preloader or bootmii as boot2 installed before using this
#5 you could start all over and try everything againa nd see how you go if you still get nowhere then your wii might have been updated from nintendo to block game backups

and tell are you usin WBFS 3.0 or 2.2.1 if its 2.2.1 i had trouble with that version update to 3.0 and try again or try using a small 2/4GB usb device just a regular usb device just as a test whether or not it will load then and if it does load u might wanna try getting another HDD if you dont use wbfs manager you should try using it and if you do use it you might want to follow larylie's guide where you can load wbfs iso's onto a FAT32 Format
