Hey all,

I purchased the latest Drivekey, which will allow you to play NSMB and everything. My problem is my Wii is one of the new ones with the D3-2 drive. What do you think I should do, none of the modchips work with this new Wii except the ones for USB loading.

Is it worth buying a replacment DVD-ROM drive? Or should I wait and get a new modchip when they come out and play via SD card or USB loader?

I think the DVD-Rom is my cheapest solution, but want to make sure this is all I will need to do to get this working. Already have a library of disks, so want to utilize these. Will replacing the DVD drive do the trick?

Thanks!

You could probably get a 500GB USB HDD device just as cheap as you would a new Wii drive. Then just softmod the system and use the USB HDD Device. From there it will be more convenient having all games on the HDD and you won't need to buy or worry about burning DVD backups.
