AdweekMedia has announced that Apple has won the "Brand of the Decade" award among others in their publication's ?Best of the 2000s? advertising awards. The company also did well in the publication's Reader's Choice Poll.

360 failure rates were over-exaggerated...

Considering you have had more people with 3+ bad units than any other console in history...meh it was under exaggerated and it still has the worst heat design for a stand along unit. Also the propitiatory hardware design sucks which is why the Ipod stuff with the unremoveable battery sucks....
and BTW anything zippy sucks....but it dose not mean it can't be enjoyable :P

Not over-exaggrated when M$ has admitted that basically the first 11.5 million units sold have an inherent design flaw. That's almost 1/3 of all total units sold. Everyone I know (except one who doesn't use his much) w/ a 360 is on their 2nd or 3rd unit due to that...one is even on his 5th. And those are tech-savvy people who knew not to block the airflow/etc.

I would think Google is actually the "brand of the decade" .. 10 years ago they were just one of many search engines. I used dogpile and a few others, but on pure growth they are now everywhere and everybody has heard of them. Apple continue along in their niche "fashion accessory for people with too much money" marketing and lifestyle selling nonsense. Their sales show they are nowhere near a "best brand" .. they just tag along copying everybody else, sticking their branding all over what is in the end nothing near cutting edge and than charging an arm and a leg for it.

Apple is overrated and overhyped, i would have rather seen the title go to somebody who actually makes a difference in the industry. what have apple really done for there industry.
there Ipods are being made cheaper than they used to and they charge more for it.
the iphone is great if you wanna do every thing but make a phone call.
there dominate on what they want you to do on purchased hardware.
the only thing i can think of apple has actually done is figured out 18,000 different ways to screw the consumers
if people really think apple is the top stuff we live in dark times indeed.

I would agree that it is all overpriced but not over hyped. Maybe MAC computers and OS X operating system. Or the iPod (All of them). But I for one think my iPhone is just fine. It had its issues but for now the iPhone is more than enough for me.

You seem a tad confused. I already admitted they are overpriced. What I said is they (iPhone) are not over hyped. IMO. And actually $199 is not a bad price but I don't like to be forced to take a 2 year deal with shitty AT&T

I don't really understand the want for a removable battery. I have 2 iPods and the iPhone. All three and the batteries are working just as good as they always have. Maybe after years but by then I will upgrade to something newer. Just means that if you want a removable battery then buy a different brand. Your choice.
When I buy coffee I have a choice between buying filters and ground coffee or I can buy coffee that is already wrapped in a filter. I'm lazy so I buy the filter and coffee in one. It's the same coffee. It doesn't mean the filter and coffee in one sucks, it's just my choice. Same idea.

I respect your position. Really I understand what your saying. But tell me what isn't costly and disposable? Even the alternatives that you would accept in place of the apple product is disposable, just for different reasons. Cars, TV's, microwaves, computers, sound systems, DVD players, 360 game consoles bla bla bla...... It's all disposable now. That's Just the way it is. Try to hard to change it and you fall behind.

Well the Icrap have 2 "main issues" other MP3 players and soem cell phones do not have that is SD to SDHC support and a easy to remover battery....along with iffy hardware and it being over priced to death :P
The 360 is almost as bad with all its issues and limitations a solid and good DVD(or DVR player)/BR player will have options out the ass for the premium you'd spend on the Icrap, in fact take a 20-50$ wallyworld player and give it a shiner name add 200$ to it and you have the Icrap sumed up in one sentence.
If you like the Icrap that's all well and fine but I am partial to the under 60% 64GB and under Icrap knock offs they do everything well but Mp4/deent video have a crappy built in battery but are half or less the cost of the Icrap stuff...my point in this rant is I can not compute paying 1/3rd to 1/2 the price of a good laptop for a MP3 player that should be half the price.. frankly I sat down did my research and spent 200$ on a DSlite and M3 real and 8GB soon to be 16GB SD card I don't use the DS stuff alot if ever video sucks but MP3s do fine and I can do maintenance on it without having to waste time mail in it and pay 50$ for them to replace the Gdamn battery in it....
uhg if anything Icrap has done 2 things to make consumer electronics worse its shown if your slick enough you can make more money off cheap hardware and backhanded maintenance BS than building a truly feature rich and sturdy device...reminds me about cars really........

Zippy your fighting a ghost,Apple had made a fanbase from when Apple was a forgoer in Computing industry. its ironic that they would use a Ad from 1984 when apple was actually something.
I have noticed every apple owner i've seen usually wears name brand clothing. Coincidence, i think not.
