Flashing new xbox360 drive.

Ok so if i bought an xbox360 elite this december 2009 what drive would it have in it? is it flashable yet, will it take long for a flash to be released for it?

Also if it can't be flashed can i still be able to extract the drive key off it and use it on another drive i have and flash that one?

I believe it will have the new lite-on drive in it. I'm not 100% sure but I think flashing this drive requires so soldering. I think I'm in the same boat with the drive in my new arcade 360 that I purchased about 3 weeks ago. As for dumping the drive key I'm not sure on that one.

I believe that consoles made after August 2009 can't be flashed. You can, however, exactract the drive key and replace your other drive's key with it and then flash that drive.

not quite sure what u mean. I just have a benq drive that I have flashed a million times with dosflash 32 in windows xp. Just want to know if the new lite ons can be flashed using same method? If your not sure does anyone else know?
