I want to back up a few of my games (The decision comes after a few got scratched and damaged and now wont play anymore)
But I dont want to have to write the backups onto disks as Dual Layer disks are expensive here. Is there a way that I can play the iso directly? And does the iso have to be on an xbox hard drive (I dont have one) or can I do it through a network with my pc or put the game on a flash drive?

You'd need to perform the jtag hack, which requires soldering, and you would still need a 360 hard drive, you would not be able to do this over your network.

and you have to install the games with a retail copy i believe, which wouldnt work if your console cannot currently read them.
