You need to be a little more specific.

What guide are you using and what part are you stuck at?

Hi, actualy i don't really know much yet.. coz it was someone trying to flash it for me (they flashed others before)

my son tried to flash it first and then a friend said he will check to see if it was flashed right (it was not) he said because when my son had flashed it everything wasn't done... so my hubby's friend put it back to factory settings and then tried to flash it.. but the screen keeps going black at different stages while trying to flash.. that's all i really know for now..

i will be getting the wii back tomorrow so will know more then.. i am not sure if this could even be a fault on the console itself.. coz only days old and not been used yet... but i am hoping it will be an easy fix, so i can get it sorted for my 4 year old for xmas

could my son have bricked it or whatever it is called?? i think the problem is only there when the sd card is trying to flash it but not 100% sure yet..

If the Wii menu still comes up it is not bricked. You really need to get it to someone that knows what they are doing before it does get bricked.

i i got the wii back.. put it to factory settings and then i started to use the guide on this site that you (larryje started)

i am good at going along with instructions and was finding it easy... but i got a black screen on the tv during modding the wii..

this is as far as i got

You will get a message saying "Load Boot dol/elf?" Select YES.

This will start the Hackmii installer

once i got to that stage that is when the wii would freeze... i double and triple checked everything as i go.. and i am 110% i did it all right..

so any ideas what the problem could be??

thanks

I've only ever had an error there when there was something wrong with the SD card. Reformat it to FAT32 (after backing up your files on it of course) and try again.

Just so you know formating the system to factory does not revert a softmod. At times it can actually cause more problems then good.

Are you sure your still on 4.1E?

If it is then do as penguin98 posted. If that still doesn't work then you may need to try to buy a different SD card and try with that.

Did you follow all the steps of larry's guide or just install homebrew channel and neogamma? You need to install the cIOS's or backup games cannot be read.

You probably have one of the new DVD drives that can not play backups. So you will ned to use a USB loader instead.

Use the CFG USB Loader guide in my sig. There is a Compatibility list there for USB Devices. Some have used up to 1TB to put on games. I use a 500GB drive myself.
