I have 4.1U softmodded wii thanks to larry.
I installed DVDX and mplayer version7.
I am trying to play an .avi file on my wii but I am getting an error message and I cannot see any DVDX Channel.
Can someone help me to fix this.
Thanks

AVI files are supported containers. Is your flash drive a U3 device by any chance? I ask because these are unsupported devices.

DVDx is a hidden channel. Hence, it is not seen on the System Menu. Did you actually install it though?

Use MPlayerWii.
Quote:
-unzip the package into the "apps" folder on your SD card.
-place the "mplayerwii.conf" file on the root folder of your SD card.
-place video and audio files on the root folder of your SD card.
-launch MPlayerWii through the Homebrew Channel.

Installation instructions are also contained in the ZIP archive.

EDIT: Supported file systems are FAT12, FAT16, OR FAT32 only.

Ok cool Thanks. Can I do this on an external hdd instead of sd card if I have a partition with fat32?

thanks again. One more for ya... I got three partitions on my hdd. 1 is formatted to wbfs 2 is ntsc 3 is fat32. I had to put the wbfs as the first partition to make it work with usb loader gx. So I am wondering if I will be able to load off of the third partition withmplayerwii. Any idea?

Ok well I am having an issue with fat32/ I run Vista 32bit and used EASUS partition master edition to format the partition. The problem is when I try to access the partition, Vista says it needs to be formatted. THe only options are ntfc or exFAT. But according to the partion program, the partition is already formatted to fat32.

Forget it all!!! You can play .avi , mp3, or mp4 (for sure, haven't tested any others yet) in mplayer ce. You don't have to be formatted to fat32, works fine with ntfs. I had mplayer ce installed and had belieced it wouldn't play avi but it does. Beats the heck out of converting files to wii files. But hey thanks any way.
