wii help blank screen after system format

Please can some one shine some light on my prob.My wii had software mod which i done some time ago,its not 4.2 the one before.Sold console on ebay so i thought i take off homebrew and a couple of wiiware games,so i formatted the system not thinking 100 percent,turned on console menu blank and no options on screen.Have i bricked my console ,how can i get it back to normal is it poss.Must of had to much gas over xmas.

I too this morning had same problem. SOn inserted Lego Rock band, when wii menu displayed, it showed System Update, he clicked it and screen went blank. I did have HomeBrew softmodded on an SD card. Can anyone help?

A system format shouldn't have done anything like this to the system.
Are you positive nothing else was done to it?
Try unplugging the system for a while then plug it back in.
Did you have Bootmii or Preloader installed?

Hi, just system formatted and i think the system was 3.2 e-dont think installed with bootmii or preloader. I did not uninstall the programs just full system formatted.turned the console on after reboot just blank screen.

I don't see where a system format would cause this issue.
All it would do is format all your channels and Mii from the system. It wouldn't do anything else to the system files.
Do you have a newer retail game disc that you could put in the system to see if at least game will start.
I know sometimes retail games can autoload if this is the case then you may be prompt to do a system update. Choose yes if you do.

If it works you will need to reinstall the softmod to get backups working again. Follow the 4.2 softmod guide in my sig.

larry-lje thanks 4 the help,updated off disc to set up time -date then wii update from disc works great .Thanks again.
