Hi, does anyone know if it is possible to install custom firmware on a newly bought DSI through the SD card (flash), or do you have to use a R4 card? Is there a program out there to do this?

You have asked this before - the SD card can only be used for uses determined by Nintendo

There is NO custom firmware

Buy a flashcart but unless you want issues running it try something other than the R4.

Acecard2i, M3iZero, EZ Flash Vi all work well

It would be pretty cool if you could though, but I guess that's what flash cards are intended for. If there was a CFW or some kind of soft-mod like there is for the Wii to play free VC and Wiiware, I'd love it! ^o^ Shame I'm not technically minded enough to have a go myself.. >.<
