THis morning my son inserted Lego Rock Band and saw the words "System Update" on screen. He clicked it and the screen went black. Unplugging chords does not help. Although Green light comes on, disc dont spin. Are there any files that can knock my system back to an earlier system revision version?

Need a little more info.
Was this a softmod? Hardmod? Was it modded at all? Was the game disc the same region as your Wii system?

The update shouldn't have bricked your system if it is the same region. The worst it should have done was unsoftmod the system.
Did you have Bootmii or Preloader installed?

They help unbrick your system.
But of course in order for them to help you now you should have had them installed already.
You mat need to get a Modchip and install it then use Save Mii/Save mii frii to load an autoboot disc to recover the system.

Ok, I checked and I have BootMii on the SD card that was inserted in the wii (the bootmii folder has 3 files): armboot.bin; bootmii.ini;ppcboot.elf. Ok, now, how can it help me?

If it doesn't load when you turn your system on then you probably have it installed as an IOS. In this case it will not work. You should have installed Preloader.
You can always check to see if Preloader was installed by holding down the reset button while turning the system on.

No, holding the reset button down does nothing for me,while powering up, but it begs the question, everything that I used for my soft mod is on the SD card, can't I put the preloader on there now and somehouw have the wii boot it up from the card?

No it needed to be installed to the system files before the brick.

So in other words Im out of luck. Ok, so Nintendo makes games that force a system update upon inserting the game disk the first time?
Im just asking because I got to get my story straight when I send this system back for repair.

Just say the game disc asked to update the system. After the update the Wii menu wouldn't come up anymore.

Curious, the nintendo technician repairing the unit, when he sees HomeBrew Channel installed, does that cancel the warranty?
