I havent played my Wii for more than a year now, and I am (very) excited to see that there are so many new Wii games! However, I am so horribly confused with all these new updates, Wiikey2, homebrew channel, softmods, and the list goes on and on...

I am currently running:

Wiikey 1
Firmware: 1.9s (US)
Version: 3.3 u

I would be very grateful if someone can give me some tips on where to go from here.

Thanks a million in advance!

Does anyone know if I should downgrade from 3.3u to 3.2? Or should I directly update from 3.3u to 4.1?

Where do you want to go from there? What do you want to do? Might want to phrase that into more of specific a question. And then somebody can give you a good answer.

Should you downgrade from 3.3u to 3.2? Or should you directly update from 3.3u to 4.1. Depends on what your trying to do? Are you having some kind of problems?

I apologize that my question was unclear...I am trying to get my Wii to play the newer games such as Punch Out or New Super Mario Brothers.

1) If I update from 3.3u to 4.1, would my Wii be able to run some of the newer games? Is there any steps I need to do before updating?

2) I read about homebrew, is this something that is required for newer games?

1. Im not sure how far you need to update to. I updated to 4.2 on my wii.

2. Homebrew is not required. If you dont know what it is then you probably have no need for it.

I forgot! New Super Mario Brothers has some issues until a update comes out for the wiikey1. If you really have to play that game you have to install homebrew, The last I knew anyway. Someone corect me if im wrong.
