plasma screen goes black after several hours of online mw2. just started in the last 2-3 weeks. tore down and cleaned console, i read about loose heat sinks in another thread, was wondering if this was a mw2 thing, my console or a curse put on buy my wife(think shes part witch u know) ne1 else suffrin thru this or hear of it. I have to turn off console and restart and its good for a couple more hours then same thing. overheat was my first thought but figured it couldnt cool down that quick by just restarting. fyi my system was ruthlessly unplugged in the middle of play a little while back, and when i restrt i'm asked about resolution output 4 my screen.

how much is "several hours of play"? i mean if its 2+ just give it some time to cooldown every 2 hours or so or you'll end up with a broken system (overheats) with YLOD all that heat generated inside over several hours is bound to kill it sooner or later. Also unplugging the machine while its on is really bad for it and can cause functionality problems (corrupted HD)but if it was the first time it probably won't kill it.

heat sinks..nah, probably just bad thermal paste. Every console except the wii has trouble with cheap thermal paste. Take breaks man. Your console is beggin for some cool weather. Also make sure you place it on wood rather than carpet or glass. Wood transfer and disperses heat better.
