Ok first I know what the common answer to this is "no FW is safe for live, wait for LT". I am completely aware of that. On the other hand however, being banned doesnt bother me. When I do get banned I just turn around and sell the system on craigslist as modded then buy a cheap RRoD one and fix it. Sure it's a little hassle but I actually make a decent little profit. I also dont have the patience to wait for LT and want to play MW2 online :) So please, no responses about it not being safe, I am fully aware of that already!
So with that out of the way, what is the safest fw for playing on live? Those of you who are willing to risk it and are playing online now and are not banned, which fw are you using? 1.41 SS? xtreme 5.3a? 1.61 stealth or NS?

These 2 seem to be the correct answers. threads elsewhere indicate users still on these firmwares survived the last banwave. There is no evidence yet to suppose any of the Liteon firmwares being safe, but no real testing has been done yet other than people on for a few days excitedly proclaiming "3 days and no ban, firmware is safe!".

No firmwware is safe. LT might be better, but they say that on every release. Who really cares.... it's worth it in my book

I've been using Liteon 1.6 NS for the past 3 days with no ban. My drive was stock before I flashed it. I was planning on flashing 1.41 SS to a BenQ I had on order but when the non stealth 1.6 came out I couldn't help myself.
I've been triple checking all my backups in abgx. Hopefully this is enough to keep me unbanned, if not, I'm with you.....I just sell it and buy another one.

grr why do people keep telling me this even when i tell them i dont care if i'm banned! I literally make money if i'm banned: sell system on craigslist for $100-120, buy a RRoD one and reflow for $40. Just a little hassle and I come out with money and an unbanned system. I've got two systems running great and my brother and I are dying to get on mw2 and pwn some newbs :) Flashing both to SS 1.41 ver 4 final now and i'll update if i get banned lol

For what it's worth... I've been playing my BenQ Non-Stealth 1.41 Rev5 online and so far no problems.

I'm with you wooly. This kind of rubbish annoys the hell out of me. Especially when you made it quite clear you were talking about custom firmware.
I don't understand why it is so hard for people to provide useful advice or none at all;
Q: "I am going to flash my drive and then go online. I am aware of the risks and am willing to wear the potential consequences. With this in mind could anyone suggest what the best firmware option would be that would minimize my chances of being banned?
A: "There is no safe firmware. Only use stock. You will be banned. Blah blah blah."
I understand the need for people to be aware of the risks and to understand that there is no safe firmware, especially after the recent banwave, but this type of scare-mongering is completely unhelpful.
