Honestly... I didn't know if i was supposed to post this here, or another thread, but mods please move it appropriately.

anyways.. after searching and coming to no real solution im having this problem:

I downloaded a 1920 x 1080 @ 24 hz test file that was said to work on PS3s. well when i put it on my thumb drive, it works no problem (although i do have to do the good ol' View all trick)

but everything on my network is accessible, including lots of other mp4 files. but this file for the life of me won't do it, and i can't figure out why. I also have a 1080p porn flick that works no problem... but i mean i want to be able to back up my blu-rays and just access them via network for ease of use.

this file just won't show up, as if its not there at all taking up space on my HDD. like i do have some mp4's that will say unsupported or corrupted, but this file, nothing. just a big no show in the file folder that i know its saved under :(

But I have others that are almost 3 gigs

again, i find it odd because it will work then played off a thumb drive... but I don't want to leave my thumb drive in...its attached to my keys lol

when you say it wont show up do you mean it wont show up in your media server interface? if so the file in question could have a container format that is not supports by the media server that you use to stream content.

yes i figured so...

like what i mean is... if i go to videos under the xmb, then to my media server, then all the way to the place where the folder should be, then tab that folder, and..its empty, but i knowww that file is in there.

and yet if i do the exact same thing, but with a usb drive, and i tab to the VIDEO folder on the thumb drive, there it is.

I'm using plain Jane windows 7 media server...
