So today I went to spoof my new benq with my old Hitachi drive key. I hooked it up to my VT6421 Raid card and the computer recognized it on boot. After running jungle flasher I got it into vendor mode I then went to erase the old firmware on it as it had been previously used. The program then froze when testing for blank on sector A it got to around 6 dots. I restarted the program and it did not see the drive. I then restarted my computer with an error on bootup that the bios does not be installed press g to continue." The computer would then boot seeing no raid card installed. The computer boots up fine with the drive not plugged in. It also freezes at loading screen whenever turn the drive on half way through boot or even when at the desktop. What can I do to get rid of this problem? I think the firmware is erased because the system blinks and when I double click the eject button it doesn't eject. What can I do to to get my computer to recognize the drive.

i think the drive may now be corrupted no good anymore, i have the same chipset VT6421 but non raid, maybe turning off the raid would help your sytem not be so buggy and closing all other applications while you flash.

I did some research apparently my drivers are polling my drive, bur since there is no firmware on it, the drive comes back saying no bios installed. I need to install a universal ATA driver on my pc, but the only problem is Windows 7 won't let me. I have gone into system32 and deleted the via.sys but ti keeps on coming back when I restart my computer. So how do I install this driver without windows reinstalling the same one on boot every time.

wrong. You need to remove the correct driver or rename. Disable it in device manager. It is viamraid.sys in xp, and vsmraid.sys in windows 7. If there is no firmware, use dosflash to get firmware back on it, then reflash with JF.

Ok thanks so I renamed the ATA .sys and replaced it with the one in my drivers. I will disable the VIA card in device manager and see how it goes, when running from usb.

You need to make sure you are renaming the correct file

To remove the VIA driver:
1. Disable VIA card in Device Manager.
2. Go to C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers and remove "viamraid.sys" or "vsmraid.sys".
3. Re-Enable VIA card in Device Manager.
4. Re-Boot PC.

Ok so I got rid of vsmraid.sys disabled Raid in device manager and rebooted. Now in device manager it comes up with Raid as not installed which is good. The only thing is with my drive turned on at boot my computer still gave me the error "bios does not be installed".
