Swapping Samsung DVD Drive Circuit Boards

I am replacing my Samsung DVD Drive which is firmware version 25. Unfortunately the new DVD drive is firmware version 28. Can I still swap the circuit boards without any problems. I do not want to flash the drive if I don't have to.

no it has to be the same type 25 25, 28 28 for it to work, sucks but you"ll have to spoof the new drive ( extract the originals key and put it on the new one) for it to work and be modded.

If you spoof your orginal 25 FW to iExtreme 1.61 for the 28, your drive will be able to play backups.

No need to swap circuit boards after; it is considered flashed, the reason you have to spoof your new drive is since your replacing the drive, another random one won't work without assigning it the unique key that belongs to your original drive and your original xbox dropping the new drive in there and plugging it in makes the xbox not recognize the new drive- wont play anything.
