OK, i have a 2 year old wii that previously had the Zelda softmod but was removed to the standard. I then had the 4.2 upgrade.
I have now followed the 4.2 softmod and it seems to all be installed fine. I can play games burnt in the Zelda days but not any new games. I am using the same burner, same Verbatin DVD-R discs and Imgburn. I am totally stumped now so looking for some advice.
All new burnt discs have the disc read error in neogammav7 IOS 249.

If your past burned games work then the softmod is installed properly. The issue has to be within your burning process.
Have you tried a different burner?
What is the burn rate of the media and what speed are you burning?
Is the media old or new?

Downgrading to firmware 4.1 might resolve the issue. It is completely up to you. Although I can vouch that some newer games yield Disc Read Errors on Neogamma. So, what I did was went back to 4.1. After I did this Final Fantasy: The Crystal Bearer booted without a hiccups. It is fairly simple to do. Just download NUS Downloader. Apply the changes shown below to get IOS60v6174..
Afterward, download the System Menu WAD for your Wii. You can do this by going to Database...>System>System Menu and then select the appropriate 4.1 firmware for your system. Cycle through the same steps displayed above. Once you have both files, you can install them using WAD Manager. Please note that it is very important that you install IOS60 v6174 first, then the System Menu WAD.

I have 2 dvd burners and both were fine before. I'm using Verbatin dvd-r and tried burning at max speed, 8x, 4x and 2x but no luck. I'm trying to burn both F1 2009 and COD MW iso files. I have also tried some Sony DVD-R discs. All original retail games work fine as well as previuos backups.
Its just strange, all the other iso's burnt before work perfect, I will try the USB loader as I really dont want to let the kids use the originals, lost too many discs before!

ok i have just modded the wii with larry info worked atreat ive burnt some games played the through neogamma the games start they load a little and then i get disc can not be read error message any ideas ive been using data write dvd-r discs

try eject the disc, and put it back in when it asks you. you get this prob with mod chips sometimes.

the error says read disc error see wii manual but the game starts up loads a bit then freezes do you have to do any settings change on neogamma?
