i just got a modded 360 and it came with a free game of my choice. I picked creed 2. I'm not sure if it was stealth patched ( pretty sure it was ) but it did need a boot disc and i made one on my own. My question is can i do a live update without getting banned or having to reflash it?

Yes, you are OK to update. However ATM, anyone who runs backups on a 360 is at risk of a ban.

You no longer need the boot disc if you update to 1.6.1

You will eventually be banned.

btw i believe my drive was a BenQ/liteon so thats why it needs a boot disc i think. Will i still get banned?

If you have modded your system and go on xbox live, you run the risk of being banned. the only way to avoid being banned would be to have your xbox not connected to the internet and live.

The second you go online even if you play games offline you out urself at risk of being banned.

have you seen the box work on live yet and how long did he have it? i've seen alot of posts about people selling their modded boxes that aren't banned yet.

technically i have an unbanned modded box as well but i'm pretty confident that once i connect it to live it'll get banned... therefore... it remains offline so i can collect my useless gamerscore.

I dont know why people exaggerate. i have a samsung m28 on 1.61 and i play Gears of war and fight night round 4 online and haven't been banned. been doing so for a couple months. i just think its the games that get you caught.

You simply won't flagged in the recent wave because of how short a time you've been doing so (a couple months). I almost guarantee come next wave you'll find yourself hit by the hammer.

i had someone mod it. i didn't purchase my xbox premodded. i have a seperate xbox for going on live but its a hassle to switch xbox's just to stream media off my computer.

Tversity doesn't need the internet to connect to the 360 but just through your home network. This is why banned users who can't access live can still stream movies off tversity to their 360.
