Nintendo DS Lite`s Screen is Snowy White

Hi,
my daughters DS Lite`s bottom screen became snowy and it was very difficult to see anything, but, there was some evidence of a picture. The touch screen worked fine. I replaced the LCD, but the problem still persists. Has anyone encountered this problem, your help will be appreciated.
